From Brian Tracy
If you go into the home of a wealthy person, what is one of the first things you see? And the answer is, a library! The wealthier the homeowners, and the larger the home, the more likely it is that they will have a fully stocked library.
If you go into the home of poor people, what is the very first thing you see? That's right! The biggest television they can afford!
Now, here's a question for you. Did the owners of large homes become wealthy and then buy the books? Or, did they buy the books and read them, and then become wealthy? I think the answer is clear. People buy the books, study and apply them, become increasingly proficient, and are eventually paid very well.
In order to stay on top of your job, you should read in your field at least one hour per day. Anything less than one hour per day will put you in danger or being passed by your competitors. The rule is that to earn more, you must learn more.
If you read just one hour per day, that will amount to about one book per week. One book per week will amount to about 50 books per year. Fifty books per year will totally about 500 books over the next 10 years. At the very least, you will need a bigger house just to hold your books, and your will probably be able to afford it as well.
